Moon looks little bit alerted, but he will get use to go alone. I personally love red tack on him and think it's perfect to him. IMO makes him look really royal and brave.
Took me long to get an idea for the background. I had conversation with my mother about this 'hay poles' (old way of drying the hay) couple of days ago and here we go. I think the tree line looks quite natural aswell, so all in all I'm reasonable proud about this. I hope you like
